Default Swimwear in December/January????

OK, I know it's September and in many areas of the USA, they're still selling swimwear in B&M stores, but my dilemma will be happening the 2nd week of January.

I volunteer with my college alumni association and we run a wintertime "bring your (young) kids back to campus" type of event each year called "Alumni Family Day" ... which we run on the Saturday of Martin Luther King, Jr. weekend.

For the past few years, we've had huge success running an indoor sports type of fun day, offering a bouncy house, games & races, soccer clinic, basketball, a rock-climbing wall and free-swim in a pool.

Usually, I end up on pool duty in my swim cap, goggles and racing suit. (Not a bad way to spend a few hours, even if I do get a little pruney!)

At the upcoming event, I'll be a bit more than 32 weeks pregnant.

Seeing as how my racing suit is a smidge small for my pre-pregnancy body, I am going to figure it won't fit my 32-weeks-pregnant body.

So, now that I'm thinking about it, who makes a swimsuit that will fit? And, more importantly, will they will be selling suits in December?

Online is fine.

I am about a 14/16 dress size pre-pregnancy and have worn Speedo and The Finals pretty much my entire swim career. (I swam competitively as a kid.)

I have no problems with tankinis, but am currently sporting a 36E bust, so extra support will be a concern; I prefer underwire to soft cup if the suit has a built-in bra.

I'll need to measure myself to see if I count as "long torso" but have been fine with standard suits in the past. (I think, with a tankini, I might count as "long torso" but with a one-piece suit, I should be OK with a regular fit.)

Also, it would be REALLY nice if I could also use it post-partum, as my IL's are planning a family beach vacation during my maternity leave. I intend on breastfeeding, so something easy-on/easy-off without gettin' nekkid would be a huge plus.

TIA!

I would try Land's End........they have a huge range of size options....for one pieces and two....and right now they are on sale!!
I bought a tankini (with built-in support because I was still nursing) from them in Feb. last year when i started swim lessons with DD....it was in their overstock/clearance section.....

the nice thing is they have a lifetime guarantee on all products and you can return free to any Sears store

If you need a Free shipping code PM me...I get them all the time

Thanks!

I still have to take measurements so that I can order from LE ... I get coupons and such from them ALL the time (they are the only mail order company I will actually CALL because their CS reps are so friendly) ... but good to know they carry swimwear year-round.

I don't remember the brand (one of the big maternity lines), but I didn't have any trouble buying a maternity swim suit that time of year online. I was hoping for a water birth, so I wanted a two piece suit.

Have fun!

I wish I could do a water birth but I've tested positive for GBS, and have heard that rules me out ... it really appeals to me, not just from a pain management perspective but also from a "I'm so much more at-home in the water than I am anywhere else" perspective. *sigh*

ON's regular swimwear doesn't fit me properly, so I am very reluctant to try the maternity stuff. I'm usually too busty and too hip-y. (Bust is currently a DDD/E cup; hips measure 43" at last check, months ago.)

Based on my previous in-store experiences with their regular swimwear, I'd be very very VERY reluctant to order the maternity line and then not be able to return/exchange it because it was ill-fitting!

I am willing to pay a bit more for better quality; DH and I do not combine funds and we both work jobs with good pay, so price is not as much of an issue as quality.
