Default "I don't like it"

There is nothing more discouraging than making a new kind of labor intensive recipe only to have your family dislike it. I hate this feeling.

It does stink. At least DH will rave about anything and usually always have seconds. The kids will love something one night and hate the SAME thing 24 hours later.

SIGH

I hear you. I make homemade oven baked Mac & Cheese. The kids won't touch it because it didn't come out of the blue box.

And what did DD#1 say today at Panera? "I really like this Mac & Cheese, it's really good."

Other then the shape of the noodles and they don't put bread crumbs on top, it's the same recipe.

Her dad took her to task for that one. At least she realized she screwed up and looked sheepish.

Guess what we're having this weekend.

Never argue with an idiot. He'll bring you down to his level, then beat you with experience.

We've kind of made a big deal with very picky older DD not saying "I don't like this" because her not-at-all-picky little brother was starting to imitate her and not try things.

Instead, now DD quietly says under her breath...."this isn't the best".

Sweetie....It doesn't have to be the best....just EAT IT!

Sigh, sounds like here as well. Sometimes if we ignore DD for just long enough and continue on with dinner, she'll try a little bite and then say "oh, I not try this before, it yum."

No kidding kid, just try it, I promise I'm not cooking dirt!
