Default brown blood

This morning around 9 am, I went to the bathroom and discovered some brown blood on my panty liner and underwear. A bit more when I wiped...and it was mucousy. Had some more around noon. Doctor on call said to just rest and call my doc tomorrow morning. Anyone else had brown spotting in third tri? I am 31 Weeks today.

I did but it was further into my 3rd trimester. It was after a ton of walking around the mall. I know I've read that you can lose part of your mucus plug and it can still grow back.

I did, although I had spotting of all sorts throughout the whole pregnancy (and it wasn't a big deal, baby and I were both fine throughout). Brown means it's "old" blood, so you're not actively bleeding. During pregnancy the cervix gets so much more blood flow, activity can cause it to bleed a little bit -- which isn't anything to worry about if that's what's going on.

Did you have sex the night before? It's common to have brown spotting after sex (or a cervical exam) as the cervix is extremely sensitive during pregnancy.
