Default Double Stroller Dilemma

I'm hoping all of the stroller gurus out here can help me make a final double stroller decision. I have a son who will be just over 19 months old when baby #2 arrives, so I've been combing the message boards looking for the solution to the great double stroller dilemma. I keep looking at the same postings over again and hope that somewhere, the magical answer will be there, but I still haven't figured it out. I've narrowed my search down to the Valco Runabout Twin and the Phil & Ted's e3 with the doubles seat, but have a few lingering questions I'm hoping you all can address. As of now, I'm leaning toward the e3 because it is so versatile and offers me the option of a single all terrain stroller once my son has decided he's had enough of strollers, but there are a couple of things I'm unsure about and don't think you can fully know without actually owning/using the stroller. What I like about the Valco is the ability to recline and shade both children at the same time and also the storage space. I would mostly use this stroller inside the mall and shopping centers, but also want something I can use to walk around the neighborhood and can maneuver inside small "in town" shops in and around my area. I know that many of you out here have and love each of these strollers, so any advice you can offer would be VERY much appreciated!

1. With the e3 in toddler/newborn or toddler/toddler mode, does the child in the back seat get a lot of sun shining in on them? If so, is the sun shield something that will make it very hot for them? Are there any other solutions to this problem that don't require buying more accessories?

2. Is the fact that the straps don't adjust on the e3 a problem with a newborn?

3. Is the width of the Valco ever an issue in bathrooms, small aisles, etc.?

4. Overall, if you were going to attempt to get just one double stroller, and these were your two choices, which would you pick?

I hope this isn't too redundant...

Thanks for your help!!!
