Default How do we feel about impersonal thank you cards...

Stuffed in the birthday party goody bags rather than sent after the party? Last year the thank yous didn't get sent at all because I was helping my dad with cancer diagnosis 3 weeks after the party. Insert smiley with bag on head. We did, however open the gifts during the party and the boys said thank you in person to everyone, if that counts.

So this time I was considering doing the thank you cards ahead with a "thanks for coming to the party" type of message. There is the chance that we will not get to opening gifts during the party because I have so many activities planned. How would you feel about that? With the way our summer is going I can't be sure I'll get them sent again.
