I bought an '09 Bee minus off Craigslist for $250. I took my 6 mo old out for a walk down the street for the first time today and I wasn't really feeling the love. I love it indoors but I just found it hard to push on the street. Is it the stroller or maybe I'm just out of shape and weak? The street was pretty flat, regular blacktop with some cracks in it from the winter but not especially bumpy. My driveway is smoother and it was easier to push on there. Any thoughts or opinions? I'm not sure what to do. Oh and my arms hurt too, I'm thinking it may be me.

I have no experience with the bee minus, and I'm not a huge bee minus fan, but I know people love them. I do believe it is meant to be kind of a umbrella/lightweight, so it's going to do best in malls, smooth sidewalks, etc.
that said, the good news is, you got a good deal and you should be able to easily resell it for what you paid if you decide you don't love it.

I just took my Bee+ out for its first stroll with LO today, so I thought I'd add my thoughts. I'm not sure how much has been changed between the Bee- and the Bee+, but I was very impressed with the ease of the push today. I was on blacktop and at an outdoor mall with some less-than-ideal poured concrete. So I would suggest giving it a few more chances in a few different locations. Then if you still aren't in love, I vote for selling it because there are so many great options out there.

hm... I had bee- and one of the things I loved so much about it was great push and steering.
What exactly didn't feel right? Can you compare it to other strollers you have pushed? Does it still push well indoors? by no means is the bee an AT stroller, but it should perform better than average non AT. |

I have the older Bee... it's definitely better indoors but I've used it in outdoor malls plenty of times. It should feel much better than any other lightweight stroller though. Did the wheels rattle a lot or it didn't steer well? I've had mine rattle a few times when running in the parking garage trying to get in the mall :P but other than that, never.

No rattling or anything but it just felt heavy to me. I haven't pushed anything but the Snap n Go so I can't compare anything else. I may just be weak and out of shape because I have no problem pushing it indoors. Maybe I'll try it some more and if worse comes to worse I can always keep it for the car and maybe get an AT for outside.

I think the Bee is 18 or 20 lbs.. so not super lightweight but it's still in the lightweight class. I'm not sure how much the Snap n Go weighs but for sure it pushes much better than that. I've pushed my friend's before and I have a really hard time steering it. My heart hurts that you don't like the Bee.. I loved love it!

![]() I am on my own this week, no husband & no car, and I have pushed my Bee all over the place and it has performed wonderfully. I live in an urban area and it is fine with cracked uneven sidewalks and the like. The only bummer has been lifting 25 lb baby + bee up the three steps onto the bus. ![]() Anyways, I agree w/ the PP. It definitely should be able to handle an outdoor stroll! |

I've only played with the original Bee in stores, but my own Bee+ has an incredible push and one-finger steering. The only surfaces that have truly befuddled it were pea gravel (at a playground) and really deep cobblestones.
