Default help me figure out what to serve

having some ladies over one night later this week

timing is definitely post dinner. planning to make/put out guacamole and salsa w/ chips.

will also be making mini chocolate chip muffins for those who prefer sweets

but i need more than guac and salsa

help? is cheese and crackers too random alongside the guac & chips? should i go with another dip, like spinach & artichoke? or is that too much dip?

this shouldn't be so hard, but i really don't know these people well and so it makes me anxious to "show" poorly

thanks

How about putting out some crudite for those that want to nibble on something healthy?

Fruit and veggies. Those mini quiches are nice, imo, if you want an easy, hot option.

yes, veggies and fruit - good idea! so...do i put any dips with them?

or with the veggies in particular? what do you think most people like?

and, i could make a yogurt dip from the fruit, but i think maybe i'm over-dipping things if i do that

I'd just do fruit and little desserts (mini brownies, cookies...). That's what I would want after a meal time.

I find that fruit salad always disappears when I serve it. I just chunk up honeydew, cantelope, watermelon (really adds juicy flavor), mango, strawberries, and maybe some blueberries. Mix it all up about an hour before. Really pretty if you serve it in a trifle bowl, but any dish will do. You can also put out some grapes separately (or in the fruit salad too of course!).

Have fun!
