Child's cheek and lip swollen

I've never had this happen before! My 4 y.o. DS woke up in the middle of the night with a swollen cheek and lower lip. He said it feels big but does not hurt or itch. We went swimming at the lake yesterday, but nothing else out of the ordinary. What could that be?? Should I take him to the dr. today to get it looked at? Thanks for any input!
