Default Anyone ever buy Men's shoes for themselves?

There is a particular shoe that is extremely gender neutral but considered a men's shoe (think tom's style shoe). If I were to buy it, what size do I get if I wear 9.5? What other risk do I take if I buy it.....it's really gender neutral but will the width be an issue? I just really want them!

they are online only and can not be returned so I want to be sure if I am in good company....

All the time but I wear an 11 and sometimes it's a necessity. That usually translates to a men's 9 or 9 1/2. It's usually about 1 1/2 to 2 sizes smaller depending on shoe. They will fit a bit different. Men's and women's feet are different but also mostly the same. If you don't have to be really careful about the fit of your shoes it should be fine.

A 9.5 is usually a men's 8.
I have done it on occasion but they are usually wider.

I had a pair of men's deck shoes when I was in high school because I liked the color combo better than any of the women's I could find. They fit me with no issues, though my feet are slightly wide. I wear a size 7 women's shoe, which corresponds to a 5 men's/kids. If you google there are comparison charts.

I wear a women's size 11 and I have ordered men's shoes on several different occasions - because I just can't find what I'm looking for in my size. I never really have a problem with the fit/width and I have narrower feet. I order a size and a half to 2 sizes smaller depending on the shoe so if I were you I would order a 7.5 or 8. If its something like tom's where the material may stretch I would go with an 8.

Just in case you may need this thread another time, sounds like ladies shoes should be 1 1/2 sizes larger than your normal size

I have several pairs of kids' shoes that I wear frequently (mainly Keens and Lands' End). I wear a 7.5/8 in women's and usually a 6 in kids.

My converse are 7.5, I wear 9.5 women's.

I wouldn't buy any shoes online that I couldn't return that I wasn't 100% sure of the size. Shoes vary so much.
