I read the Taubes book this weekend and started the Duke plan in the back of his book this morning. Question- the plan says to stay at 20 carbs/day. Do I count everything? Even meats and eggs? For example I had 3 eggs, scrambled in about a TBSP of butter this morning for breakfast (I think that is 3 carbs total?) and 1 oz of cheddar (2 carbs) and 3 links of sausage (2 carbs). So that is 7 for breakfast. I'm worried I will run out of carbs or go over 20! I haven't even gotten to the recommended 2 cups/day of leafy greens or the other 3 oz. of cheese I can have! Or do I just follow the guidelines and not count?
