Default CRAP!! Air travel w/ the b-ready...Update

The $25 double stroller travel bag from amazon works beautifully. It's not a ton of protection, it's like a gigantic nylon duffle bag, but it is better than nothing. It actually fits with both seats ATTACHED!!! And that is the only way they both fit, which is fine with me. I did have to remove the wheels but that takes 3 seconds.
It's this one:
http://www.amazon.com/Childress-Stan...7394790&sr=8-1

was all set to take our B-ready to Disneyland but I can't find a travel bag (with wheels) that it will fit in!

I bought an Uppababy vista and BOB travel bag hoping that with some origami I'd be able to get it to fit one of them, I mean surely a BOB is bigger, right? WRONG!!

The B-ready frame is too long for the Vista bag. Period. It will not fit.

The frame fits in the BOB bag, but the V shape of the seat makes the seat not fit. The second seat doesn't fit either.

We NEED a double. My 6 year old is wiped out by the end of the day and I ended up carrying the 2 year old back to the hotel while pushing the 6 year old in the graco and it was really hard on my back. The 6 YO does walk most of the time though.

My only other option is to bring the BOB and the Gluxe...I really wanted to bring the B-ready though because the basket kicks butt and both the BOB and G-luxe are lacking in that department. When we go, it will be cool enough that we'll need sweatshirts/jackets that may or may not be needed mid-day and I'd like to be able to throw them in the stroller.

I do not want to rent because it's going to cost about $100 for the time there. I can't buy another stroller either

What do I do? Is there a bag out there that doesn't cost $150 that will fit the b-ready? Do I take the chance and gate check it and hope for the best? Help!

I've heard of some gate checking and having no probs. I'd worry about it the whole time though.

Have you looked at the Baby Jogger City Select bag? It doesn't have wheels, but maybe that would make it easier to fold up into a smaller package when not in use... I can't seem to find rave reviews for it, but it may fit since the City Select is sooooo long

I have traveled with an umbrella several times and never had any damage.

That said, if you want a bag, what dimensions do you need? Would a very large duffel bag work? What about a sea bag? http://www.amazon.com/Official-US-Mi...ref=pd_sbs_a_3

Can you do the bob bag for the frame and a duffel or whatever for the seats?

I thought about that but DH poo-pooed the idea of bringing 2 bags for the stroller LOL!

I ordered an inexpensive stroller bag from Amazon. It doesn't have wheels but claims to fit several different doubles so I'm going to give it a shot. If it does fit, We'll just have to wait until we're at the gate to put it in the bag instead of bagging it up and wheeling it through the airport. DH injured his arm, so he can't carry heavy stuff anymore. He was my packhorse!

Why would you want to wheel it through the airport instead of use it at the airport??

From my personal experience my strollers have taken more of a beating when they were in bags, so I would just gate check it as is if no bag works out.

I would probably just use the stroller in the airport and then put it in a large trash bag when I gate check it. That way the fabric is protected at least.

We'll be taking the disney express bus, so we won't need car seats. We don't really NEED it through the airport, so I was thinking I'd save time but sticking it in the bag before we left for the airport. Obviously this won't work if it's not in something with wheels LOL!

Yeah, It's not a flimsy stroller, I just didn't want it to get banged up or scuffed or super dirty. I baby my strollers.

We're actually traveling to Orlando in a week too, with our brand new b-ready! We found a bag at Buy Buy Baby today for $35 (used a 20% coupon) that fits perfectly. No wheels, but it's a pretty thick canvas-type material. It's built like a suitcase -- top zips open. Just thought I'd share for anyone else who may be looking!
