Default Vibram Five Fingers

I saw them about 3 years ago while on vacation and I thought they were so weird but I am seeing them more and more around here. I think dds would love them. I kind of want a pair now.
What do you think?

I think they'd be a PITA to get on a kid. . They have the barefoot Vibram sole in some closed toe that I'd get instead.

DH has two pairs, one for everyday wear and one for running. He loves them.

Since I can't stand thongs because the piece between my toes drives me nuts, I don't think I'd like these. And I agree they'd be tough to get on a kid--I couldn't get ds to figure out a glove until he was, like, six.

I have a neighbor who really likes them though.

I tried them on once and they really hurt my left little toe. Caused it to cramp up. Everyone's foot is different but I did not like them.

I have the merrell version, which doesn't do the individual toes, since toe socks annoy the hell out of me and I love them!

About 6 months ago I decided to get a pair. I tried at least 10 different styles and sizes and couldn't find a good fit. The little toe was usually the problem. They definitely do not fit every foot.

Not my thing, but I imagine they wouldn't really work unless they were the exact right size, which isn't really practical for anyone with a growing foot.

I have them and like them, but don't love them. They start to hurt after running about 5 miles....maybe there is an adjustment curve while your foot muscles strengthen, I don't know. I doubt that my DS would like them, as you can really feel every bump in the road. Also, they would be a pain to get on and off him.

There is definitely an adjustment period when wearing these shoes. DH has been wearing them for years (maybe 3?) and loves them. They are his go-to shoes, but it took him awhile before he was comfortable running in them. Personally, I'd love a pair, but have tried them on a few times & like others have said, I just don't feel like they fit me very well. It'll be quite awhile before I'd be willing to attempt a pair for DD - getting a kid to fit their toes in them does not sound amusing to me.
