Yup, a counter like that would be a junk collector here, too. I sort and fold on my bed, since my W/D is in my bedroom.

I never fold laundry in the laundry room..i'm only in there to get laundry in and out. If i had a folding space, it would almost guaranteed to be a junk counter (but that's just me!)

I fold laundry watching TV after kiddos are in bed, or while the kids are playing (DS often likes to "help" put his clothes away..fine with me, lol)..for me it's saves a lot of time. At this stage in my life with 2 little ones i have SO much laundry (diapers, kids' clothes, my stained clothes), if i had to fold in the laundry room i'd be there for HOURS!
