Default What are your favorite athletic socks?

I need to get new socks for working out. Any suggestions? I live in a fairly warm climate and will be mostly using them in a gym, if it makes a difference. And I want them to be machine washable.

The ankle ones at target. They are mainly white but come 3 in a set and each pair has a different color with the white.

Thank you for all your suggestions, ladies! I'll try to see these options IRL and settle on something.

(Except my mom bought mine.)

I also like the ProSpirit microfiber/wick-away ones I bought at Target several years ago. They're very thin, so I can wear them alone or as a base layer sock.

If I need more cushioning, I opt for the SmartWool (Mom sent me running or hiking socks; I don't remember which) or my cheapie Adidas cotton ones that I bought at Famous Footwear.

I like these adidas ones too, but not for sports. As a runner i have a lot of rubbing, and the smartwool are just more gentle on my feet!
