Default Help complete this outfit

I have the navy Seville skirt from Boden. (basically a pencil skirt) I found a cute tank top at Kohls in a deeper pink--the front is basically tiers of "chiffon" ruffles. Not overly frufru. I want to wear it to work but I need a jacket or cardigan to wear over the tank top. What color do I get? Navy? Cream? Just not sure what to do?

This is the top--I got it in "marshmallow" and hollyhock.

And what if I wanted to wear a black skirt with the tank top? Black cardigan or cream or what? I also got the tank top in white. If I wear that with navy or blue, then what color jacket/cardi can I wear?? I have a deeper amethyst cardigan from boden (last year's or I would post so you could see the exact color)--could I wear that with black skirt and the white/cream tank top?

I just don't want to look like an 80s color disaster :jamming: and I never could match clothes--I do fine if I have a black shirt/pants and then color with the cardigan. But 2 colors layered on a neutral starts to throw me.

Yes for amythest, white and black. For navy and pink, I'd introduce another hot color, like orange. It will set the pink off nicely and treat the navy as a neutral.

This is a fairly deep pink--I think it would be hard to find darker. I should post pix or links of them. Maybe I will try...

Hmm, maybe a lighter pink cardigan then? Just thinking it would work with either navy or black that way. And should work with the white one too. What about grey?

I would look at the j crew catalog/webstie. They do a lot of hot pink/ navy, sometimes w/emerald green, IIRC.

Wearing the white tank top, purple cardi and black skirt today. Looks good!! Now I have to see how to mix colors--seriously, I just need Grranimals for adults! (I realize that I am totally dating myself by that comment!)

Maybe a light grey cardigan? I've worn a similar color combination. Kind of like this (sans the leopard which I cannot pull off).

That sounds so nice. I was looking at my j crew catalog today, and they have hot pink with orange a lot. Also, with deep, red merlot. But, the addition or the blue skirt throws it off for me. i don't know how to mix that many colors. So, maybe sticking with a light gra or lighter pink would be best, Idk. I feel like I'm just learning how to combo real colors, saturated too.

Oh, and deep purple looks really good with yellow citron, if yu want to try another combo with the above outfit. I would do citron, light gray, and purple.
