Anyone use Whatsapp?

I'm being asked by a colleague to use this for texting. I am really leery to use anything but the native text app that the phone came with. Why? I dunno. But not sure I wanna DL this or not. This person is in India, so it would be helpful in some ways.

I use Whatsapp. Most people use it for international texting though. It allow for texting over wifi without local text messaging fees.

I have used it and will use it when my parents go to China. It works well!

I use it with my sister, who lives in the UK. International texting is expensive if use your phone carrier.

We use it because when DH is in some campus buildings here underground and such there is no cell reception. It's okay.

It's a very well known and popular app! Every person I know with international contacts uses it.

He is definitely wanting to use it because of international texting fees. It is quite expensive and something like Whatsapp is a common workaround.

Whatsapp itself is popular, well-known and it wouldn't bother me at all in a case like this.

This is what I used when traveling internationally, and it's what I use to text my brother and his inlaws now, as some of them live out of the country and/or travel frequently.

I felt fine doing it.

I use the app. Very useful for people who need to use international texting frequently. I have family and extensive friends in Europe, so I use it all the time. Normal texting is only used by me with my domestic family/ friends.
