Default Berg Mountain Cribs

Hi,

New here....we have seen (and loved) the Berg Mountain Crib at The Baby's Room. I saw some discussions here from last year, but nothing more recent...does anyone know/heard anything more about these cribs now?

Thanks!!
Julie

My baby is 15 days old...

I have the convertible Mountain crib. I love it so far. The side of it moves up and down smoothly and fairly quietly (and seems to become more and more quiet as we break it in). The drawer underneath is wonderful for keeping all the baby bedding.

Just a warning....I also loved the look of the Berg Mountain Cribs and thought they were a good deal for the price. We ordered two in early August (for twins due the end of November) and have just been told by the Baby's Room they will now not be available until December! Originally they were supposed to be delivered in mid-September. Now we are scrambling to come up with alternatives. Apparently, Berg is WAY behind in their orders.

We bought one last year and have been using it since January. Until recently I liked it pretty well. One minor issue I had was that it was difficult to tie the bumper on due to the large corners. Now I have a major beef, and I still plan to call the company (if I ever find the time!) Since we lowered the mattress to the lowest level, the gate has become difficult to work. We discovered that part of the reason was due to the wooden stabilizer bar (underneath, connecting the left and right sides) had become warped. For now we have rigged it so that the bar is back in place. I think there is also something wrong with the gate mechanism but we haven't taken the trouble to inspect it fully yet. Because of the difficulty, I only lower the gate about 20% of the time; otherwise I just reach over to put my baby in, which is also a pain.

We also ordered the Mountain sleigh crib from the Baby's Room on August 24. They originally told us they should be receiving the shipment in the middle of Sept. We have called numerous times and still no crib. First we were told there was a shipping delay and we would receive it in Nov. or Dec. Today someone from the Baby's Room told my husband that since the crib was so popular and Berg could not meet the demands, they are now discontinuing the crib in the white finish we wanted! I have never heard of a company that discontinues something because it's popular, don't know if I really believe that one. We also may be back to square one looking for a crib. I am so frustrated, especially since my baby is due any day now.
