Ok, I'm using the BabyPlus device which plays varying speeds of heartbeats on my belly, thus teaching the fetus how to discern sounds.
But I'd like to know HOW to talk to baby or play music for him as well. How do you talk TO the baby so that it's specifically to the baby? Should I read books? How do I play music? Are there any tools out there that can help me do this, or what? Any online resources? I am totally clueless! |

You don't need tools! Your baby hears everything you say and much of what's in your environment. Babies can naturally discern sounds-- MUCH better than adults, actually-- without any special gadgets at all. There are some great studies that show babies doing that at birth and even before! If you want to talk to your baby, just use a slightly higher pitch and repeat key words, which is what you'll find yourself doing after the birth. Babies respond more to higher registers, simple sentences, and repitition.

I've recently been wondering about you say regarding higher pitches in voice. My brother and wife never spoke that way to my niece. She began developing earlier compared to other children. The girl was speaking full sentences at 2.5 years. I always wondered if speaking in an adult fashion had something to with that! |

Read anything and everything you can outloud to your baby. I have read several Dr. Seuss books and now I am reading the third Harry Potter book.
I talk to her in the womb in my normal voice as does Ms. Flagger. We play all sorts of music though we do not listen to Mozart. She really responds to Elton John and Nine Inch Nails of all things. |

The BabyPlus system you're using will help alot with early development (and sleep, eating, etc). I used BabyPlus for my DD and she's been speaking in full sentences for a few months now. For music, you can just put some headphones on your belly and pick out some classical and fun music. :)

I just resently bought a WombSong from Walmart. It works with your stereo, and comes with a CD to play to the baby. It also comes with a microphone so you can talk directly to Baby.
