Default Problems with our Pali crib

I have a Pali April crib and recently 2 screws fell out of it and one landed on my daughter's mattress. My dd is 9 months old and of course everything goes into her mouth but thank God she didn't get ahold of the screw. We had lost our instructions so we headed to the store where we had purchased our crib to get a copy and look at their April crib there. They had the same 2 screws missing! The salesperson said that these 2 screws are 'dummy' screws and are only there to fill a hole on the drop side and make the crib look nicer. Well, that is a choking hazard and I'm so disappointed with my Pali crib. I emailed the company but have yet to hear back from them. One of the reasons I chose a Pali was b/c of their high rating with the BB book but now I'm not so sure they are a safe crib.

Default RE: Problems with our Pali crib

I am so sorry to hear about this -- I ordered a Pali too and it should arrive soon. But let's not panic just yet. I did speak with Pali a couple of weeks ago about its warranty period and policy. While they may not have a written policy in place, the rep told me that they do warranty their goods for a year (and if it's like 13 months or something, they will still honor the warranty). The rep said that when problems arise, the customer should first contact the retailer who sold her the goods -- which is what you did. If you are still not satisfied, then feel free to contact Pali directly. I find that they never check their emails, but they do pick up their phones (I was able to speak with 2 diff reps on 2 diff occasions). Their toll free number is listed on their website. Give them a buzz and alert them to this potential choking hazard, and confirm whether what the retailer told you is true (that those were dummy screws).

Good luck!

Thank you so much! I found their customer service number and hopefully they will give me a call back. The first person I spoke with said it was up to me whether or not I wanted to put the screws back in. Well, duh, but do you really think I want to chance them just falling out again??? Hopefully we will get this resolved but I can tell you that I will never recommend Pali again.

Default RE: Problems with our Pali crib

I have just purchased and assembled the Pali Charlotte crib and I remember installing two screws that were 'dummys'. If I remember correctly, they were installed on the side of the sliding rail, but weren't anywhere that they should end up falling out and landing inside the crib.

Thanks for the post, I'll double check the crib, but I really don't remember anything alarming.
