I have seen quite a few reasonably priced glider rockers on target.com but I'm not sure of the quality. Does anyone have one? Andy opinions?
I am especially interested in this one: http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html...sin=B000EGEX26 |

I have the ultramotion glider and ottoman from Target. It's $199 for the glider and probably a good value. If we buy another for the next baby I will not get the same one. This is what I would change.
- padding is not very thick, therefore only comfortable for limited time (you'll be suprised how much time you spend rocking) - the arm padding is worthless, I have to rotate it everytime I get in the chair - does not recline at all so you can't adjust the incline when your back gets sore in one spot. - the back cushion shift periodically and you end up with your back on the hard wood right when the baby falls asleep and you don't want to move - ottoman cushion is not removable therefore not washable. it's where you put the dirtiest part of your body and you have to spot clean!!! Very frustrating! As far as quality of the frame, everything is still in excellent working condition after a little over a year. Basically, next time I will invest the money in a neutral, fully upholstered chair that I can use in a different room in the future. |

I also have the Ultramotion Glider and Ottoman from Target. I do agree that the arm pads are worthless and this may not be the best glider for someone who is larger (my DH is 6'2, 200 lbs and he doesn't like it as much as I do).
I do think that overall it was a good value and 2 years later mine still looks great (I have the beige color with the white frame). Amy |
