My question is about the following vintage white convertible crib from Target:
http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html...sin=B000IMNK52 It gets rave reviews online but everyone writes about how beautiful it is and how easy it is to put together. I am wondering what parents think of it after they interact with it once they have the baby. Like... is the static side (doesn't lower) get really annoying after your child is a little bit older? And who makes it anyway? Is that company known for good, safe cribs? What is the construction under the mattress like - is it safe and sturdy? How hard is it to lower the mattress later on? Any light anyone can shed on the subject would be great. Thanks! I have since figured out this crib is made by Ever Bright International but I can't really find any information on this maker and their reputation. Does anyone know about this company? |

We only just got the crib this week and our baby isn't born yet, so I know I am not exactly the reviewer you are looking for. However I can answer a couple of questions for you. The mattress rests on a metal (painted white) ladder-like rail structure that screws into the bed frame on the four posts. There are 4 or 5 notches to move the mattress up and down. In order to move it you have to unscrew it and lower it, but it seems to be pretty easy. I was relieved at how sturdy this part is because it is difficult to tell from the models at the store and I didn't want something flimsy holding up the matress.
I hope you can find some people who have had it a bit longer to give you further insight. I am so far really pleased with it. Oh, and also - we purchased the dresser that matches the crib and once we had put it together we realized that the door had a slight flaw and the magnetic piece that holds it in place was broken. We called the number we were given in the instructions and they told us they didn't have those replacement parts, but to call a local Target store and tell them what we needed and that they would take it out of a new box. We called a store, took in the door and the latch, and they opened a new box and gave us what we needed. It was so nice not to have to return the whole dresser. I assume it would be the same case if anything was wrong w/ the crib. |

What was the color like on the crib? I'm thinking of purchasing the crib and dresser as well and was wondering if it's pure white or more of an off white color? Thanks so much!

Yes it is slightly off-white. The matching pieces even call it "vintage white".

We recently got this crib for our daughter as baby #2 is coming soon. Don't have any info about the maker. My husband (who is not handy) assembled it and it seems quite sturdy, more sturdy in fact than the crib she was in, which had the sides that go up and down. We have the mattress in the lowest position which keeps her from climbing out, it is slightly a pain for me as I'm very pregnant but normally would not be a problem (i'm 5'4"); but she can stand up so it is easy to reach her, don't know how difficult the static side would be with a smaller baby. In this lowest position the crib skirt is actually a little too long and I can't fit the underbed storage boxes anymore. However, I like how low the mattress can go because I think that will be better when we take the side off and use it as a toddler bed, not very far to go at all in case she rolls off. I have other white furniture in the room and it does not seem to clash being the "vintage" white. Hope that is helpful.
