Gymbucks/ Gymboree returns question

I bought a bunch of stuff for DS (layette lines) during the Gymbucks earning period and received three Gymbucks. Yesterday, I went to Gymboree and spent my three Gymbucks on more merchandise from the layette lines. DS is a big boy at 8.5 months, and I am really hoping that he won't outgrow the 12-18 month stuff too soon. These are the first of his fall clothes. He has not worn anything yet, including those from the first purchase, and the tags are still on everything. I am considering returning some of the monkey layette items I bought during Gymbucks earning, but I'm not sure if this will mean they will somehow take away the Gymbucks I have spent already. I brought the first merchandise with me yesterday, because I thought that if I couldn't find enough to spend my three Gymbucks, I might return a few items and buy them back with Gymbucks. Since I found enough to spend the Gymbucks on (Gymbo blankets are a new addiction), I didn't do this. The sales associate implied that if I really didn't want to keep all the merchandise from the first batch I bought, I could return some AFTER Gymbucks redemption and I wouldn't be penalized at all. Does this make sense? Anyone know if I could do this? I have not tried the monkey sleepers on DS, but he is chubby and they are narrow, so I'm just not sure how well they will work.

I returned a good portion of the stuff that I bought during the gymbucks EARNING period even after I'd already spent all of my gymbucks during the redemption period.

Granted my store knows me very well ;)

There's no way they can penalize you if you return things you bought during *earnings* after you have redeemed the GB. They really have no way of knowing whether you used the GB or not (really, it's just a coupon) and they will just do a normal return. If the GB is still attached, they are supposed to take it. If you return things that you purchased with a GB, they will give you the purchase price (cost-GB discount) for the return.

I returned a lot of stuff bought during earning time cause my DS is a big baby so I needed bigger size and some stuff (like the same monkey sleeper :) ) I decided not to keep at all.
So you can return anything you want.
