Default Help! Robeez too tight around DS's ankles!! Need alternative

My DS (almost 17 months) has extra wide feet. We've done well with Stride Rite EW shoes for outside, but I'd like some house shoes for the fall/winter. He had a pair of Robeez last winter, but the elastic kept cutting into his ankle and it looked uncomfortable. I have read in one post that Shoo-Shoos run a little wider in general; anybody else had this problem and found a solution?
thanks

Hi,
DD also has extra wide feet. I used the Hanna moccasins all winter last year; and while the elastic around the ankle did leave a mark, DD was never bothered by them.

HTH!

I am going to second (in a big way!) the Hanna moc's. I have a 16 month old with extra wide feet and a high arch and they are wonderful "house shoes".

Our little guy also has chubby ankles, and the Hanna moccasins are a great answer. Also, we're planning to try the UGG Infant/Toddler boots ( http://store.nordstrom.com/product/p...tyleid=2811826 ) for inside. The velcro closure looks like it will help out with the 'chubby ankle' issue.

Penny,

Did you see that Hanna has the UGG boots on their website? They are $34 but if the code is a good one, they could come out to less thant the price at Nordstroms, if that matters to you and if you have some other hanna items you are interested in. I think they are so cute and am considering getting some if we get a good discount.

In regard to the original post of the Robeez being too tight. It seemed like they were too tight on Jack too when I first got them so I wrote an email to Robeez and they said that the elastic can be replaced with a bigger piece by yourself or a shoe repair/alterations place which could be an option for you. It turned out that Jacks seem a little loser now that he has worn them a couple of times so I have not switched out the elastic.

If the code is good, it probably is a better deal in general. But I actually work for Nordstrom (as a Creative Developer), so I get a discount off the $29.95 website price. However, depending on how good the Hanna code is, it might be worth it for me to wait.

Thanks! I hadn't realise that.
