After an hour of wearing my new red chenille sweater for pictures, I looked like Elmo! It linted all over me, DD, DH, my coat... you get the picture. This is my first chenille sweater; will the lint go away once it's washed? Or should I just return it? I hate to return a worn item, but if it's going to keep doing that, it's useless to me.
Any suggestions? Thanks! Missy, mom to Gwen 03/03 http://www.gynosaur.com/assets/ribbo...merald_18m.gif 20 months and counting! |

Return it! IME, chenille sweaters often do this and it gets little, if any, better after being washed. Also, your washing machine and dryer screen will look like a red ball of yarn exploded in them every time you wash the sweater. Not all chenille sweaters do this...I've found that the less expensive you go, the worse the shedding is. :( Sorry!

Thanks for the reply, Denise. I was afraid that would be the answer. :(
