So I went to Target to buy the cheapy aqua shoes for the beach and playing at the sand/water table and they are way too narrow! I am so bummed since they are such a steal at $5. Any options for a closed toe waterproof shoe (he already has Teva's) that won't break the bank? Ryan is a size 6.5/7 Wide.
TIA. :)

Debbi,
I actually bought the $5 Target water shoes last year and they were not wearable for us because they are so narrow. Target does actually sell Speedo water shoes for $12 that are much wider and they have an elastic strap mechanism that can be loosened and tightened. I bought these for this year and I think they will work much better for us. They are not in the shoe department; they are located with the outdoor toys. Veronica Mom to Eva Born 6-03 |

I thought they looked narrow but I got Sophie a 6 (she measures a 5) and they fit OK. They have a lot of stretch.
Good luck, I hope you find something! Best, Mary |

Those narrow ones at Target wouldn't fit my ds either. I couldn't find the Speedo ones, so I ordered the mesh shoes from Land's End. Problem is they don't come in half sizes, so they're still a little big.

We ended up buying aqua shoes that are 3 sizes too big in order to get my son's chunky foot in there. They are long, but he doesn;t seem to mind. Actually, I tried them on him in the store and they seemed to fit overall - then I got them home and realized there was tissue stuffed in the toebox that made them "fit" in the store. DUH!
Anyway, at that point we had already clipped the tags off, so we decided to keep them. We bought ours at a sporting goods store (Academy). I think the price was $4.99. Have you tried a sporting goods store? Thanks, Lydia Mama to Santiago, born 11/16/03 |

I also got the speedo ones at Target...they were in the aisle with the swimming stuff...floaties, noodles, all of that. My son has an XW foot and these fit him great. I think they were $9.

Thanks for the responses. I will try the Speedo ones at Target! I saw them with the pool stufff, but didn't even think that the cheapy ones wouldn't fit so that was as far as I got. :)
