Default Calling HA experts -- best HA items for new baby?

I discovered HA (thanks to all of you!!) when DS was already into size 70's. When do the size 50's fit? I am expecting with a due date in Jan (it doesn't get terribly cold here). I wonder once the baby gets out of gown-type sleepers, what are the best HA items to have and when would SHE (grin) be in a 50 vs. 60?

Thanks!
Maryann

HI Maryann!
I am due in Nov and have been buying both 50s and 60s. I mostly have been getting lots of wiggle pants, snap up or kimono t's (long sleeved), jeepers and zippers. Also hats and socks (I got a ton of these for very little $$ at the outlet store here in CO). I also got a Luv a Bug size 60 fleece jacket for spring in a 60- hopefully it will fit. I figure I can pair a lot of onsies or tshirts with the wiggle pants and wrap him (having a boy!) in a blanket or put a sweater on over tshirt.

Hope this helps! Congrats!
Lauren

Maryann,

I think you bought my HA girl stuff on Swap, no? Anyway, Rose is just out of the 50s now at just over 3 months. She had been wearing them since birth. I have one pair of 60s pants that are really more capri-style and they fit like pants at 2 months until recently and now they are more like capris. She still has a lot of grow room left in her 60s zippers, however. I really like the wiggle pants and snap tees or creepers, plus the zippers for Rose so far. She has a few dresses for later on in the year, so I could let you know how the dresses and tights work out closer to Christmas. ;-)

DS was wearing a size 50 zipper (the only Hanna we had in this size) until right about 3-3.5 months. He's 4.5 months now and wearing 60's zippers (which still have a TON of growing room), snapsuits, wiggle pants, and jeepers. He has a pair of size 60 pants (I think they're supposed to be clamdigger length) and a matching sweatshirt that's still to big for him. At 4.5 months, he is 26" and 16 lbs.

It doesn't get terribly cold here either (Southern CA), but he sleeps in his zippers since we usually have the AC on. I don't anticipate him sleeping in anything more that a zipper and socks come Jan/Feb.

I would say get some zippers and jeepers creepers, especially for early spring. The cotton is so thick and yummy, you'll love it for your DD! Congrats, by the way!

HTH!
