DD will be one at the very end of January. She's not yet crawling - she's happy to hang out sitting! :D So I don't think she'll be a super early walker, although I could be wrong. I'm wondering what kind of footwear she'll need to keep her warm this winter. Last winter she just wore socks and Robeez - but her feet were mostly wrapped up in blankets when we went out. Now, for the stroller and especially for being carried in slings and other types of baby carriers, I'm thinking she may need some warmer footgear. I would love to find some that are nice, soft, and warm, but don't cost an arm and a leg. Those new Robeez booties are cute, but almost $40! Yikes! I tried some little Target boots on her but the tops seemed too narrow for her cute chunky calves...

When Nate was that age (he has an end-of-Jan b-day as well), a friend of mine had some fleece booties that tied w/ one of those elastic pull cords, from Patagonia or Columbia or something. I tried them out when she left them at my house and really liked them. Nate mostly wore his LE fleece suit w/ the foldover feet folded over and/or socks under Robeez. They didn't have the booties when he was a baby.

We loved the Ugg booties. Some places have them for as low as $30 and they have pretty good resale on ebay.
