Default Need help!! Last minute Christmas dress

I waited too long to order the outfit I wanted for DD for Christmas, so now I'm trying to quickly find something else. I found this dress at J&J but don't know what to pair it with? It needs something long sleeved under it because it is cold here. Any ideas? I don't really like the shirt they suggest pairing it with, I would prefer something not pink...Also, I would need to find some tights that actually FIT a 7 week old. DD's legs are long, but what are the smallest tights? Everything seems to be 0-9 months, which obviously would fit a 4-6 month old much better than a newborn! TIA!

ETA: Also, does J&J run pretty true to size? DD is just fitting into 0-3 month but its still slightly big, and some 0-3 is still too big, period. Will I be okay with this dress in 0-3?

J&J has some long-sleeved bodysuits in white with pretty collars on their website - have you looked at those?

Thank you! For some reason I never even thought of that. :) Do you think cotton will look okay under the dressier fabric of the dress? Thanks again!

What a cute dress! I would pair it with a white bodysuit and white tights. Last year I found a cute LS white shirt at the Gap with organza-ish edging on the collar that made it a little more dressy, which I paired with a holiday dress. And this year I found a white pointelle LS shirt with a little bow at the neck at Old Navy (in 2T at least - I don't know if it comes in smaller sizes), so I think if you look around you can find a dressy enough shirt.

We don't have much J&J but the couple of things my DD has had have run a bit small.

ETA: What about this bodysuit from J&J?

That is actually the exact bodysuit I liked with the dress! :) (I went to look at them after the PP suggested it.) However, DH said no to the dress, "its not Christmassy enough". Now I need to decide if I want to try to order it for Easter (he loved it for Easter), and try to figure out what size I would get! Thanks! I will definitely keep my eyes open at ON and Gap for a shirt if I get the dress.

ETA: So its back to the drawing board for the Christmas dress - any ideas? We're looking for something soft and sweet, not too "old looking" for an almost 2 month old, and, I guess, "christmassy" :)

I think that the Hanna little red dress is adorable on even little babies.

And it's definitely Christmas-y. Of course, I think the velveteen dress that you first posted would have been perfect too, but if DH doesn't agree...

Default I think I found one!

Thanks for all your help, ladies. I think I've found the winner, after searching the mall today. :) I found this at Gymbo (on sale even! the website is even cheaper, wrong size though):

The shirt must be sold out online, cause its missing from their site. Its a long sleeve cream colored shirt w/roses near the neckline that match the roses on the hem of the skirt.

The skirt:

I'm thinking I'll put it with her black Mary Janes & either tights or ruffly socks. The skirt is quite long - comes to mid calf on her right now.

Now I'm crossing my fingers that DH will like it! (He is actually pickier about DD's clothes than I am, if you haven't picked up on that... :) ) Maybe if he says no, I will send HIM to the mall to find something :)

Allison,

Wow, just have to pipe in and say we have the same exact taste. I think the outfit that you waited on is the same outfit that I waited too long on, if I remember from our posts/emails back and forth. And the other day, I actually bought the J & J dress but for my older daughter. I actually thought it was beautiful but not Christmasy enough. She doesn't need another dress, but I couldn't resist it since it was so beautiful. Love the skirt from Gymboree. But DH doesn't like skirts on babies. I still have yet to find a holiday outfit for my newborn (don't know when I am going to find the time to go back to the mall - will probably have to resort to mail order).

Post pics of her in your final outfit.
