I'm just not excited by many of the clothes I've seen in my "standard" shopping spots - Lands end, miniboden, ll bean, gap, old navy, etc. Any suggestions of other places to look? Thanks so much!

I bought DS some clothes to try from Naartjie. He loves it but I am not crazy about the look. I plan on placing a large Hanna and LE order soon. I also cleaned up at the Gymboree baby sale last month and have some gymbucks to spend. There isn't a heck of a lot out there right now and the things I really like are just too expensive- MB and GH come to mind!

I ended up catching some bargains on Wonderboy button-down short sleeved shirts last fall. I love the colors and although he won't be "springy" in color scheme, frankly, I put him in what I think looks cute ;). I got two pairs of khaki shorts (one green, one true khaki), his Levis and his SKR Mareks and he's all set :)....I spotted some nice polos at Target this last week and may pick up a few bright colors there.
Now DD is a different story.... |

I'm buying my DS Gymbo for the spring/summer. I might get some striped t-shirts or polos from Old Navy, since they always seem to have them, but I'll be buying mostly Gymbo. With sales and Gymbucks, I can get a bunch of stuff for around $7/each. I'm too cheap for Mini Boden, I don't like Naartje's boys' clothes, and I like the way the clothes from gymbo all match, and a few pieces make several outfits. I also like the animals and prints, since DS will be wearing plain clothes for at least two thirds of his life.

I actually like some of the LL Bean shirts - they have some cute outdoor type graphics. Having said that, I'm happy that I bought ahead; most of this year's stuff isn't doing much for me. Naartjie was major source of shirts last summer; I just don't see much this year, and has been the biggest disappointment.
For other places: Hedgehog has some fun little boy prints for both shirts and shorts - NO freakin' STRIPES!!! Yipeeee!! www.hedgehogusa.com Sarah (the rep) is super helpful, and has awesome CS. LOVE everything I got from here. Keedo is another South African company with cute stuff. www.keedousa.com Too $$$ for me for the boys stuff, but I've been told the quality is excellent. If you have a store near you, you can find fun clothes at H&M at reasonable prices. Only B&M, nothing online, though. I also scored some Mulberribush at Nordstrom - they tend to have fun colors and graphics, but $$$ at full price. I've seen them at Lord & Taylor on sale pretty often, though. I would recommend checking out the department stores. I tend to overlook them, but places like Lord & Taylor, Marshall Field and Nordstrom have a lots of fun things, and other than Nordstrom, frequent sales and coupons. And, if you want something truly unique, Juliet (jec2) offers some cool tie-dye shirts on her site www.bumbershootbaby.com . I got the guitar shirt to coordinate with some Hedgehog shorts, and it's fabulous. Which hedgehog shorts did you get, and what colors were the guitar shirt? That sounds adorable.
I've been looking at the hedgehog site, and the clothes look really cute. |

You know, I am with you, I am just not loving it. But in the retailers' defense, I have not been shopping around much, MIL has taken good care of DS recently and has already started summer shopping. I have overbought for him all his short life, makes me so sad putting away clothes that have been worn once or twice, so much $$ spent collectively!
At any rate, I love some of the Polo stuff, but no way am I paying over$20 for a toddler shirt. I have my eye on some stuff from Talbots, waiting for a sale. May make a trip to Janie and Jack too, to see what's in their clearance racks. |

I agree with Nita on Juliet's stuff...very cute! We LOVE our guitar shirt...we have a long sleeve one for this winter, and we may have to get a ss one for the summer. We always have people stop us and ask us where we got it. I'll add a photo of Jonah wearing his:
![]() She also made the heart shirt for me and Ella, love that, too. Beautiful stuff, and it is fun to buy from another BBB mama! We also like the hedgehog stuff and I want to order a few things from Keedo. It is a hard age to dress, I am also so tired of stripes, baseball, and just plain T's. HTH |
