Default How to keep baby warm without Halo sleeper

Hi,
My son is 10 mos old and is crawling and pulling up. We stopped using the Halo sleeper months ago (it was summer anyway) but now I feel he's too cold with just a sleeper on and no blanket, even with the heat on at night. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions? I don't think getting a new Halo sleeper will help as how will he stand up and move around? I have 2 more months before I can use a blanket so any suggestions would be great!

thanks,
Lauren

Fleece blanket sleepers - TCP has nice ones, also Lands End and LL Bean.

DS is 2 and we just started using a fleece Halo sleep sack again Friday night when the temps dropped. With the exception of the last 3 months, we've always used one. He had no trouble figuring out how to walk around the crib while wearing it when he started to walk, and he only wears it in the crib. Our house gets cold enough at night that he sleeps in both a fleece sleeper and a fleece sleepsack.

My 2 yr. old DD still uses a Sleep Sack without any problems too. But, if you don't want to use one, this is what I have done too! She wears a long sleeve onesie and socks under a footed fleece pjs. And, I actually used a blanket on her from about 6 months because she would just kick it off to the foot of the bed when she got too hot and pull it over her when she was cold. You could also tuck it into the sides of the crib too. DD didn't like that because it confined her and she liked to roam! HTH!

We used the TCP fleece sleepers. Get them big. They run long and skinny.

I had the same concern when my DS started standing/walking. That was at the beginning of summer so it was time to stop using the sack anyhow. We pulled them out again this week when the temps dropped and it has been working fine. He's kind of funny, walking around the crib in the thing, but it is working. I'm not ready to give him a blanket yet and he moves around too much to keep it on anyhow.

Looks like you have decided what to do, but wanted to add that DS will be 2 years next month and has always been in sleep sacks. He is definitely able to walk around with them on. Also, Halo makes a larger size sleep sack (as big as 5T, I think)that actually has holes for feet in the bottom. DS has one of those and sleeps with his feet tucked in, but sticks his feet through in the morning when he wants to walk around.

HTH!

thanks everyone. I got some CP sleep blanket things in a size 12 mos cause he's 10 mos and their regular PJs in a 6-9 still fit him and I heard PJs need to be snug but now wonder if I should get 18 mos as you said to get them big? I will try one on him first.

I may get a Halo fleece sack and alternate then and try it. I wish the size for him would come with the holes for feet. 5t is too big. I just heard somewhere that when they can roll over it's time to stop using those - maybe it was wrong info. Of course now he's crawling, etc. so I thought he'd fall but I want him to be warm.

thanks again!
Lauren

Ditto the pps...my DD is 10 months also and has been in a sleep sack all along. She's never had any trouble cruising around her crib in it.

FWIW, I just bought some fleece footed sleepers at Carters for something like $7.
