I've seen Hanna, Gymbo, J&J, and I'm not in love with anything yet. We had the little red dress last year, adorable, but I'd like something different this year. So what is everyone's DD wearing for Christmas? I need some inspiration!!

I felt the same as you and we also had the HA little red dress last year. After looking around (and trying on!) I bought the Gymbo Houndstooth Jumper and red cardigan. I thought it was cute on the hanger but it really looks adorable on DD.
Last year I bought a Bailey Boys Christmas outfit from a local store that was going out of business. It's also adorable, but not practical for our Georgia weather. I'm going to have her pictures done with that outfit and the Gymbo outfit will be for Christmas day. Hopefully others will chime in and you'll get some more ideas! :-) |

DD also wore the little red dress last year. :-) I bought a different Christmas Hanna dress last year on clearance--black velvet long-sleeved bodice, red and black plaid flannel skirt--that should fit her just perfectly this year. She'll wear that one for Christmas Eve or Christmas Day services. (The little red dress might still fit for wearing throughout the season, too.) She also has the red-and-white striped playdress, which I think she'll wear for the casual parts of our Christmas celebrations.
If I didn't already have her dress(es), I'd be tempted by the Gymboree knock-off of the little red dress, as well as some of the dressier things I saw last weekend at a children's store in Boston. (Can't remember any of the brands now, unfortunately, but there are some darling holiday dresses out there!) You may want to check out some children's boutique stores if there are any in your area; it's fun to see some of the brands that you don't see everywhere else. Cheri

I have the Little Red Coat, and I'm not sure if DD will use it as a coat or wear it as her Christmas dress. I can't find anything else I love yet either. I like the red plaid jumper at J & J, but I'd prefer a dress. I don't like smocking very much, so I'm not crazy about their red velvet dress. I'm with you on needing some inspiration!

We're super casual around here and I loathe anything velvety with bows and satin. DD is going to wear the red/white striped PD/DD. I love that she can wear it all season long.

DD ALSO wore the Hanna little red dress last year. This year we went with the lantern lights dress from Hanna--pink with black trim and design. We just wanted something other than red and DH and I both loved this one!

My girls are wearing matching dresses from Wooden Soldier.
http://woodensoldierltd.com/catalog/...S/G5313-20.jpg I also love this dress from Baby Gap, but it's too small for dd1, and too fussy for dd2. http://www.gap.com/Asset_Archive/GPW...2-00p01v01.jpg There are some cute casual dresses in CWD Kids as well. http://www.cwdkids.com/servlet/quagg.../_qprm_/browse ~Colleen Julia, 1-10-02 Emma, 7-27-05 “When the first baby laughed for the first time, the laugh broke into a thousand pieces and they all went skipping about, and that was the beginning of fairies." |

Our Christmases are always cold, and while I think the velvety dresses look very pretty, I'm always afraid my girls will destroy them or be very uncomfortable (I have memories of lots of itchy and uncomfortable holiday clothes ;) ).
I usually look for coordinating knit dresses from brands like Clayeux or Deux par Deux (I scout around on eBay). Seems warm, comfortable and they're always different. When my DD1 was two, she wore an adorable snowman dress from Zackali. I haven't found anything this year so far, though. |

I'm stumped. She has a gorgeous navy velvet dress marked '12 months' that I bought last year at TJ Maxx and is enormous, no way it will fit. She has *the* Naartjie Velour Red Dress I bought last year, enormous. No way it will fit. *The* Hanna 1000 Flowers Dress. Same Story. Are you beginning to see a pattern? LOL. The only thing in her size is the Hanna Little Red Coat that I almost didn't buy b/c it's only a 70. She could wear that as a dress, I guess. I did just pick up the Pretty in Pink dress for her (very late) 1 year portraits. That could work for Hanukkah.
Maybe I'll pick up the red velour hanna dress. It's nice and simple, looks comfortable. I just don't know what we will do for the holidays this year, yet. Some years we visit relatives on a ranch, no fancy attire needed. Or we might stay home this year b/c Dd is ... uh...at a "Challenging" age. We will at the very least get to wear our outfits to Church and possibly overdress for Dh's company holiday family party.

My DD will be wearing the Gymboree knock off of the little red dress. I actually had been eyeing it for some time and last night I finally went and bought it. It looks so adorable on her, and unlike some of the other holiday dresses will be warm for her as well.
