We're going to FL in May and my son will be 7 months old. Does anyone have recommendations for good toys for travelling? I'm thinking soft/small toys would be best? Also, do we need to bring toys for the beach/pool, or will being in the water be enough entertainment? Should we just buy some bath toys? He seems like he'll be too young for a pail and shovel...
Thanks! Vanessa |

Around that age, my son loved (and actually still does) clothe books (check out the lamaze brand books)...they are easy to pack, lightweight, and entertaining for little eyes and hands. Another good travel thing is finger puppets...again easy to pack and entertaining. My philosophy on packing toys is always pack less than you think you will need....you can alway pick up a few new toys as "souvenirs"!Instead of beach toys,I would just bring some stacking cups. Be sure to bring a sun hat, sunscreen, and bounce fabric sheets (pin to stroller....good for keeping mosquitoes away!). Where are you going in Florida? We are headed there for a family vacation in June. Have a great trip!

I had no idea Bounce sheets would keep away mosquitoes!! What a great idea! I like the puppet idea too -- may make him laugh and at the least will feel different then chewing on my regular finger ;-) Ours is a family vacation, too -- we're meeting my parents and brother's family in St. Augustine -- so hopefully all the "new" faces will keep him busy, too. Thanks for the ideas.
