Default Which wagon for a walking 1 year old?

HI! I am trying to figure out which wagon to get (quickly!) for DD's birthday on Thursday. It doesn't have to be here by then but I'd like it soon. I was going to get her the #12 radio flyer wagon, but she already has the parents wagon, and I'm not sure if that is overkill. She started walking 2 weeks ago, so I don't know that she needs that wagon, and maybe the ride-in version would be bette. Can anyone recommend a good wagon?

Is she old enoguh for a ride-on (like the RF trike)?

Also, if you have any other recommendations for toys for a 1 year old, I'd love to hear them!

TIA

I love the RF walker wagon, but I felt it was overkill for us. Nolan cruise while holding on to a toy & the cheezy FP toy works just fine. Plus, I just bought him a wagon & a Kettler.

As far as a wagon, we have the RF Pathfinder wagon, it is plastic, but I liked that it had seat belts. Target has it for $62. You can seat 4 kids with the seats down or 2 w/the seat backs up & seat belts & it has 4 cup holders. I also have a metal wagon w/wood rail sides. Classic look, but not as practical so I justified both. :)

For Nolan's first b-day (this July), I bought him a Kettler trike (w/seat belt & pushbar), a couple Little People sets (Zoo & Ark) & a few other things.

Thanks Christy, I was just looking at that wagon, as it seems to be popular..it looks so big but I am sure that space gets used! I kdon't knopw if DH will go fro it as it is so large and we have no space, but it looks fun.

I don't know anything about a kettler trike, I will do a search on that now! I agree, the LP sets are great, she has one sitting in the basement from Christmas that we never gave her as she had so many presents, so I'll wrap it up for her birthday! Thanks for the feedback!

Jonah also has the RF pathfinder wagon. (Hi Caroline!) I guess it is a bit big, but it is for 2 children....which may come in handy someday??? LOL I love the seatbelts since Jonah is still small, and you can use it for so many things.

Target and Walmart both had some great plastic wagons, a little tike one also, etc....if you wanted to see them IRL.

Hope you find something for Isabel!

I think the radio flyer walker wagon #12 and the bigger outside wagons serve 2 different purposes.

The #12 is mainly for inside use. His aunt bought it for DS as a b-day gift and he loves it but he just started walking this week and is not very steady. We hope to use it as a toy box as he gets older. Hopefully it will help him to learn to pick up his toys : ) . The ride on is really nice too. My niece has one and really likes it.

For outside we got a cozy coupe convertible. I just wanted a fun thing for DS to ride it while we go on walks as he was getting bored in the stroller. You could get a bigger wagon, trike with push bar etc. They will all basically serve the same purpose this year.

HTH

If you do a search I posted a review of all of DS' b-day gifts. He has truely enjoyed many of them.

Hey Caroline - how the heck are you? No wagon advice, but how was your trip to Italy?

HI Pam! The trip was great! The flight was not so great, but Isabel was very good, just not the kind of thing I'd want to do again! We got back Saturday, and with her birthday coming up, I am trying to get her presents organized..She'll be 1 in two days and really took off with the walking in Italy, that's why I am confused as to what kind of wagon to get!
Hope all is well with Tess, Shea, and Neve!

My son has 2 wagons. The Radio Flyer #12 walker wagon, which I like but hesitate to recommend. The wagon doesn't turn, only goes straight- which in my house means Logan can only go about 12 feet before he stops because he's run into a wall or furniture. Then I have to turn it around and go pushes it for 12 feet and again another obsticle is in the way.

He also has the Radio Flyer #24 Town and Country, which is a big wagon with wooden sides. He loves riding in it and going on walks. It doesn't have a seatbelt, but I am making my own. It is not the wagon I would have picked out, but it was a gift. If you like to go on walks a wagon is a lot of fun.

Thanks Julie for that feedback! I do like the classic loos of the bigger wagons with the wood, but the seatbelt sounds appealing too. Too many decisions!
