Has anyone tried it? What's the verdict? Better than old diaper genie? Better than diaper champ?

I didn't have the old Diaper Genie, but ours is marked as the "New" one. I also have the Diaper Champ. The Diaper Champ is better IMHO. DH wanted to try the Genie, but even he still prefers the Champ. Champ is so much easier to use and you don't have to buy the refills!

Yes, the Champ is much more convenient...no refills to buy. But wait a few months when you have to put toddler pee/poop in it, and you will wish you had something else!

I have to agree with the Diaper Champ. We liked it initially and even purchased two. When DS became a toddler we started keeping them outside because they smelled so much!

Has anyone tried the Diaper Dekor? It got good reviews in the book and the reviews on amazon are good. You do have to use their liners, but folks say refills last a long long time. This is what we've registered for, but I'd love to hear what real users think.
Thanks, Jenn Due with my first in Feb. |

Another vote for the champ here. We had the Genie (the new version) for a couple of months, and while it worked just great, I got sick of buying the refills pretty quickly. We have been using our Champ for over a month now and are very happy with it. I just keep a bunch of plastic grocery bags in a basket in DS's room and pre-bag the poopy diapers before putting them in. I also pre-bag the night time diaper, since it is so soaked and has more potential to get stinky. I use the same method with the grocery bags that I do when we are walking our pup: once the diaper is in I twist it really close to the diaper then I turn the bag inside out over itself and tie the handles, so it gets double bagged with one bag (I hope this makes sense) then down the chute it goes. I honestly don't find the pre-bagging any more of a pain than using the Genie.

we had the Dekor and the Genie and they both have their pros and cons. The Genie takes two hands to operate while the Dekor is one handed. But the poop smears on the doors of the Dekor while the Genie has the bag come over the entrance part.
Get whichever one is on sale. For as many people as love one of them, there are just as many who hate that one. ...Karen DS Jake Feb 91, DD Logan Mar 03 http://members.aol.com/khowe14494/superpower.gif http://members.aol.com/khowe14494/bo...breastfed2.gif |

Supposedly the new and improved Genie has one-handed operation, though I never have had a problem using the old Genie with one hand.

I love the convenience of my Diaper Dekor but I have to admit it does not block odor all the time... It is not so bad, though -- when it gets smelly I just change the bag. I've never had the Genie so I can't compare the two.
And yes, the refills on Diaper Dekor do last forever! Ana
