We went after my midwife appt and got there about 5:30 pm. It wasn't bad, but when we were leaving at about 8, there were people stalking for spaces. I definitely wouldn't go on a weekend.

Have you installed the laminate flooring yet? I'm just curious if you like it. Also do you know if they sell the strips of wood that would go around the baseboard (not sure what they're technically called)? I didn't see them there when we were looking at the flooring display. The prices were awesome!

I was afraid of that. So much for my idea of a family outing to Ikea this afternoon!

We actually didn't buy anything when we went to the new store on July 4th, but anytime we used to go somewhere with an Ikea we would buy something and then drag it on the plane home. One of our favorite things is this mirror that we have in our master closet instead of a plain old full length mirror. We got it a long time ago, but they still have the same one. It is kind of fun IMO.

I second the questions above! My DH and I just got a quote for installation alone...over 4K!!!!! We are thinking about tackling this ourselves...any advice, info on IKEA flooring would be great!
Thank you, Heather |

We just returned from there. I don't think anything I read could have prepared me for that! We picked up the tent and tunnel for ds and wanted to get the denim upholstered chair for him but they were out of stock. They also had some cool coffee mugs that we bought for ourselves. DH was most impressed by the .50 hotdogs and the ligonberry drink! :-)
A couple of questions: Where did you find the play pots/pans and dishes? I didn't see them in the kids section and by the time we finished looking through the marketplace ds was screaming. Ditto on the babyproofing stuff. Where do you nurse? They said on the board that they had special areas to take care of babies, but all I saw were some changing stations. |

I can't answer for the Atlanta Ikea, but for the one I've been to in Elizabeth, NJ, there are family bathrooms with changing tables, sink, separate small room with toilet and sink, and several couches for nursing.
