hi there, not sure where this post really fits (around the house, in the baby's room, or all other areas?). I've gotten such wonderful advice on everything else having to do with the kids through BBB and these boards that I thought I'd tap your expertise. Anyone have a good source for photo albums that last? We've been using ones from costco but the bindings break. I like the look of the leather-bound or canvas-bound ones that Martha Stewart by Mail used to carry but it looks like they're no longer available, and they were pricy. I'm not picky on whether or not the pages have pockets for photos or just one big page. If anyone has a good source I'd love to hear about it.
Thanks for reading... lizziebee (who is desperately trying to organize the growing landslide of baby photos before it buries her, her boys and the house) |

I got some really nice ones from Ross, if you have them where you live. They were leather (feels smooth and soft, like oiled leather) with book-like bindings and ecru pages with margins for writing notes, three pockets per page. I believe they have a few styles and colors (I got them in brown and black) and were $8.99 each. I have the Costco ones as well and these seem to be better made.

Are you photos digital? All of our photos are pretty much digital so I made both Grandmothers a ccrapbook from my digital picutres on ofoto for Mother's day. I haven't seen them yet but both Grandmothers said they were nice.
For my older pictures I've bought albums with hand-made acid free paper from India- but they are available at Barnes and Noble and art supply stores. http://search.barnesandnoble.com/boo...sbn=0641612702 I then use photo corners for an antique look. |

thanks so much for the B&N suggestion. I'll check that out.
most of our prints are digital. the photobooks and flipbooks (from shutterfly--we love these for holiday gifts) are a great option, but they can get really pricy and you can't change them once they're printed. not sure if this is helpful or not but i noticed that when amazon switched from ofoto/kodak to shutterfly they began to offer a free soft cover photo book if you order $20 or more from shutterfly. it expires 9/7/05. here's the link if anyone's interested: https://amazon.shutterfly.com/secure...omo.jsp&amzn=1 thanks, lizzie |

Hope I'm not too late - Exposures.com has a fabulous selection of leather or cloth bound photo albums. They are a little more expensive, but soooo worth it. Also they often have great clearance deals. You can also request a catalogue.

I use Pullp albums and really like them. They are classy, moderately priced, and can be ordered online at this web address:
http://www.perannum.com/pulpalbums.asp They are also be found at nicer stationary stores. I like the baby collection solid color linen albums. You can have them embossed with baby's name or initials if you want as well.
