Wondering if anyone has seen or used the new baby safety airway booster. Specifically interested in what type of belt path there is (i.e. open loop) and how the harnness straps are, if they are the thin kind that get twisty. Need a seat with harness to accommodate my son who is 3 years and 40 pounds, 39 inches. Thinking we need a Britax Marathon, but with his height (long in torso) not sure how long that will last.
Thanks! |

It's not bad for the price, but it has some quirks you may discover if you get it.
The straps are complicated, but not very twisty. The Airway and the Marathon have the same top harness height...~17 inches, so I see what you mean about not wanting to spend so much more money for a tall kiddo :) Here was my son at about age 5, 44 inches tall in it http://photos.yahoo.com/bc/joolstag/...c=ph%26.view=t (the seat looks taller on a child when not installed in the car...he was below the second slots in the house, and above them in the car. We put it in the top slots from day one) www.epinions.com has several excellent, tech-written reviews on it that should really help you decide :) Hope that helps Julie CPS Tech and mom to 2 in seats http://www.cpsafety.com/articles/RFAlbum/SarahMA.aspx |

Wow, Julie. Isn't it amazing how differently-built kids fit in seats?? My just-turned-4 yr old is 43.5" and has about 1/2" before he reaches the top slots (he just had a growth spurt this past month). He's all torso, just like dh. I was just thinking this past weekend about when we'd need to switch it to a booster.

Yeah, Heather, that's wild!
Though I think my kids come by long legs naturally, lol...my mom is 6 ft tall, and when she sits next to some of her 5'3" friends, they are the same height! Talk about "seated height" being the most important part of seat fit! Bitsy's leggy, too...she's outgrown all the nice, cheap 4T pants I scored for her this fall, and I'm forking over more money for 4's and 5's for her, since everything has become capri length on her lately, lol.
