Default Installing RA -buckle problems

I installed the RA rear facing last weekend. DS's feet already are up against the back seat, but after reading about that problem, I'm OK with it. The remaining problem is the buckle which sits between his legs. DS is six month(17 lbs. 27 in) - and the buckle pushes into his (admittedly chubby) legs. When I took him out, he had marks where the buckle hit him. Did I install the seat wrong? Has anyone else encountered this problem?

Thanks for any help you can give me.

Default RE: Installing RA -buckle problems

Hi. Do you have the belly pad between the buckle and his body? That will eliminate the buckle indentations on him. Britax harnesses sit low across the thighs, so you might also get strap marks there. Unless your ds complains about it or his skin is chafing off, it's not a problem.
