Looking at the following:
Evenflo Triumph - put Parker in one yesterday, and it was so snug and terrific! But I thought I wanted leather for cleaning........ Eddie Bauer/Cosco 3 in 1 - leather - what I thought I wanted for ease of clean up and how it will look long term. Only negatives I'ves seen are about the straps.... The more I research, the more I hear about Britax Marathon and Wizard. Don't mind the $$$, but again, not leather. |

If easy cleaning is your main concern, Britax is your choice. The covers dust right off and are extremely durable and hard wearing. The Triumph requires a screwdriver to remove the cover, Britax is just elastic, comes off easy, hand washable, you can buy replacement covers. They don't do a leather seat because leather is hot and sticky and not as great as it would seem. (because it's hot and sticky, lol).
But if you really think leather's the answer for you, then just know that the Alpha Omega has *very* low top slots and won't last as long, heightwise, as the other seats. Most kids are too tall for the top useable harness slots at around age three, and that's really too young to safely put a kid in a booster seat (they are really too wiggly to be safe in a booster till about age 4 or 5). :) Julie CPS Tech and mom to 2 in seats http://www.cpsafety.com/articles/RFAlbum/SarahMA.aspx |

Thanks so much! Any particular ratings/safety concerns I should consider? Not sure why I'm making this so hard......
Are you aware of any "fit" issues with Tahoe bench seats or Suburban bucket seats? Thanks again! >If easy cleaning is your main concern, Britax is your choice. >The covers dust right off and are extremely durable and hard >wearing. Britaxes have EPS foam that the Coscos are lacking, to help absorb impact in the head area during a crash. They have a rearfacing tether, to get just the perfect recline...with a cosco, you often need rolled towels or pool noodles to get the seat reclined enough. Britaxes have built in lockoffs, so if you are using a seatbelt, you can just clamp the lockoffs onto the belt and not worry about the seat tipping up as they can when rearfacing with certain kinds of seatbelts without a locking clip. Britax has independent latch straps, and connectors that look like seatbelt buckles, rather than coscos just metal hooks with one strap to pull.
www.carseatdata.org might have entries for your cars and probably these seats. :) Good luck! Julie CPS Tech and mom to 2 in seats http://www.cpsafety.com/articles/RFAlbum/SarahMA.aspx |
