Do I dare buy a car seat off of eBay? Has anyone had any luck doing this? Do you know of sellers who are good, or who to stay away from? I have found some Britax Marathon's that look good... 2005's... Is there anything I should watch out for? Or should I just stay away and buy from a "real" store??? THANKS! |

I would buy a NIB one, but definitely not a used one.
I think Albee Baby, a reputable store in NY, sells on eBay as babysurplus. ~ deb DS 12/03 http://www.windsorpeak.com/dc/user_files/10029.gif |

Most manufacturers will not honor the warranty if the seat or stroller or any other gear for that matter is bought from ebay!

I bought one from brushlesspro4 a wizard that was not involved in the recall. I called Britax to register it and they had no problem with it whatsoever. In fact I asked, because I was scolded here on the boards for getting it. She said sometimes people do that and there is no way of knowing it was bought off ebay and not to worry because Britax always honors the recalls. Now if there was another problem not involved in a recall I don't know what they would do. I however have not had a problem at all it was NIB and have been very pleased with both my Wizards. BRU (recall) and ebay. Of course, this is only my opinion.

Thank you, everyone, for your honest responses! I've been watching some auctions and they appear to be going for decent prices. I would definately do the NIB. Thanks again! |

FYI, if you buy from baby surplus and pay the $25 shipping (on a britax) it costs the same as buying from albee baby w/free shipping. At least you can return on albee baby (there is a restocking fee). However, no returns on ebay.
