I have a 3.5 yo in a Marathon and a 6 month old who's about to move into a Roundabout. Safest positioning is FF child outboard, passenger side, RF child driver's side, right? I can't really squeeze anyone into the center of my Outback back seat.
Thanks... |

Since both sides are about equally safe, statistically, you can do what's most convenient. Personally, I did exactly that, RF behind driver...it really worked well for me. And if you ever parallel park, and your three yo makes a break for it (not gonna happen with child locks on the doors, but still...) then at least they run onto the sidewalk.
