Default Install RFing MA in a VW Passat

My neighbor asked for my help in getting a good reline in her RFing MA and we did a pretty good job of it I think. It is nice and secure. But where do you tether it to??? I know it is supposed to be to a non moving part of the vehicle so not to the movable seat but to the track of the front seat??? Thanks for any help you may have to offer!

VW's make me want to cry, Tondi!
There's a big fat bar that crosses under the bottom of the front seat that a lot of parents use, but it DOES move... I would use it for my own kid with the assumptions that 1) I wouldn't move the seat after it's in a comfortable position and 2) That the seat is SURELY bolted well to the car and isn't going to move *that much* in a crash.
But, given that it's a very foggy area, it's one of those "parental decisions" that mommy gets to make. VW and Britax may or may not give you the same answers if they are called about it, either :P

I have an Audi A6, which is similar to the Passat (though HOW similar, I do not know). I used the metal part that the front passenger seat belt is bolted to the floor with. You have to scoot the seat belt over a bit to fit in the tether, but it fits.

Is that available in the Passat?

Nope, they are just different enough that the Passat truly has nothing to work with (Jetta, too...)...VW sure makes a smooooooth interior, LOL!

Hence the reason out Passat was sold... much too hard to install anything RF. We did find a spot and it wasn't the seat bar that you mentioned, I just can't recall at the moment where it was and since the car is gone I can't look. :-(
