I am due the first week of Feb

and am deciding on a car seat. I have a Inglesina Zippy stroller. Is there a benefit for getting an infant seat vs a convertible? Is there a seat that you recommend? I was planning on the Snugride since it gets the best reviews.

The Snugride's fine, but there are lots of new seats out now, some of which are better, depending on your car (The Snugride doesn't have a built in seatbelt lockoff: it's major flaw is that it tips really bad when installed with a lap/shoulderbelt). The Chicco Key Fit, Combi Connection, and Britax Companion or Baby Safe all have built in lockoffs, as well as EPS head protection foam (none of that in Snugrides).
Since you have so long to decide, I'd keep reading up on what's coming out and how much people are liking various new seats. I'm due in early Feb, too (so far the Key Fit is at the top of my list, lol)
