Default Tell me about the Ridesafer Travel Vest

I don't really get what this is. We are moving my almost 4 year old (41 inches, about 35-36 lbs) into a Marathon (in my car) and a Regent in DH's car. We are going to need something to travel with and once we have an infant (who will travel with a Roundabout) I'd rather not have to also bring the MA or the Regent as well.

I don't get what this vest is? Can anyone explain it to me? Would it be a good option for travelling with (we fly about 3x a year with him).

TIA!

Default RE: Tell me about the Ridesafer Travel Vest

Hi,

We just got this vest and love it. My dd is 6 and 48lbs and fits fine in the smaller vest. Basically you put it on before they get in the car, buckle and tighten the buckles on it and then follow the guides to put the seatbelt through, it is then basically a 5 point harnessed seat without the seat ;). If you are using a lap/shoulder belt you do not need to tether it but if the vehicle only has a lap belt you MUST tether it.

We have used it for traveling once and it is so much easier than lugging an extra car seat as it can fit in your carry on luggage. It is very easy to use once you have read the instructions (BTW they are kept in a pocked on the inside flap of the vest, at first I thought I didn't have instructions).

Another thing if you do get it, don't be alarmed by the manufacture date, mine had an old date and I freaked out thinking that it would expire, I called the company and was told that they had only done one production so only one manufacture date and they do not expire.

HTH and I got all the info right, I definately recommend it for traveling, I will get another one for my son when he is a little older and can't use his seat on the plane.

Debbie
