Default Does anyone have a Roundabout AND a FP Safe Voyage?

I have a RA made in Oct. 2004 that we love to use for travel with our GoGo Kidz, but DS is turning out too be a big boy (22lbs @ 6 months) so I was thinking of upgrading to a bigger seat. Here's my dilemma: we love the size of the RA though I would like it to be a bit lighter. Is the Safe Voyage noticeably lighter? It seems that when I look at shipping weights on each, it is about 4lbs lighter. Also, is the shell *exactly* like a Marathon? Would my GoGo Kidz work with it (we have the original Britax only version)
I think this seat would satisfy all my demands:
* Britax made
* Higher weight limit
* Good for travel

Is it too good to be true? Also, where the heck do you get them? Every place I looked at online is selling out. I'm tempted to get one now, but DS is in a SafeSeat so we have time, but if they are going to stop making them I'll grab one now.
I checked the FP website and they weren't even listed there.

We already have a MA and a DC for DD, so I'm thinking 2 SV's for DS that way each kid can have one when we travel and since DD is only 25lbs at 2yo, I'll probably have to swap DS into her seats at some point.

Default RE: Does anyone have a Roundabout AND a FP Safe Voyage?

I have both. I can't go compare their weights because the SVD is at my Mom's house. The SVD isn't a heavy seat. We use Boulevards in my car and DH's car and the SVD is WAY lighter than the Boulevard. It wouldn't surprise me if its lighter than the RA, but like I said I can't verify it right now.

The shell of the SVD seems to be exactly like the MA, but the base is different. I don't know if that will make a difference with your GoGo Kidz, I don't have one of those.

And you can get them here http://www.specialtybaby.com/fiprsavodeco1.html

Thanks Vicky, that base may kill it for me. I'll have to check my local Baby Depot to see if they have any there that I can test IRL with the GoGo Kidz.

Default Found my answer at local Baby Depot

They had a FPSV on the shelf and it will most definately *not* take the original GoGo Kidz. Too bad, I would have definately got it because it is so much lighter feeling that the MA and the RA!
Good think DS has 10lbs to go before we move him from the Safe Seat1
