Default Ricaro Young Sport or Britax Regent?

Okay, Miriam hates the Alpha Elite, and my husband finally admitted he should have let me get the Britax instead--yay!

So, since they're approx. the same price, would you recommend the Young Sport or the Regent? Miriam is 40.5" and 34 lbs. at 4 years old. I'm thinking the Young Sport, since it becomes a booster later?

She's light and older, so yeah, maybe the YS is a fine choice, it should keep her harnessed at least another year. Will you be 'ready' for her to be in a booster at age 5-6? Or will you still want her harnessed? Do you have space for a Regent? Do you have a top tether for over 50 pounds? Neither can go on an airplane, are you ok with that? Can you see either of them in person to decide?

so many questions! :D

Thanks Julie, I didn't realize the YS wouldn't keep her in a 5-pt. harness for very long, and that's something I definitely want her to have for as long as possible.

It's for my husband's car. He's got what I guess would be considered a mid-size sedan, and there's no other seat in the back. If it's too big for his car, I can put it in my minivan and put her MA in his car.

I hate to admit I don't know what you're talking about--Do I have a top tether for over 50 pounds? Do you mean does the car have a place to attach a tether?

Being able to be used in a plane isn't that big of a concern--we have the MA we can use for that.

So I guess I'm going to get the Regent then. I noticed there are some not coming out until the end of this month--is that just due to a color change, or is the seat itself changing as well?

They are just sort of backordered, I don't know if new colors are coming out. You could ask him if he wants a Safeguard Child Seat in his car :D.

Yeah, just a top tether is all I was wondering...it's required for the Regent at 50 pounds, but highly recommended at all other times...nothing unusual, just making sure you have one :)
