Default Stroller & Scenera or Marathon & GoGo Kidz for flight?

Please help me decide! I don't know which would be easier - lighter carseat w/ stroller (P3) or heavier seat w/ GoGo Kidz. It would be nice if the GoGo Kidz actually worked w/ the Scenera like their website says, but it doesn't work worth a flip, based on my very irritating experience with it on my last trip. I don't really need a stroller at my destination. BTW. It seems like having one less piece of gear to dealer with (the stroller) would be easier, but the Marathon is heavy, so maybe it's a toss-up.

Anyone w/ experience w/ both ways, please help me decide!

Thanks!

Patti

I used the Marathon and GoGo Kidz once on a flight and found it VERY difficult to install the Marathon on the plane with the GoGo Kidz still attached. It was so difficult (I was by myself and 7.5 months pregnant) that I never want to travel with the Marathon again. (Now we have a lighter seat just for traveling).

On the otherhand, the GoGo Kidz is SUPER for getting around the airport and not having the deal with the stroller if you only need it in the airport!

I agree with PP that it can be frustrating to install the seat with the GoGo Kidz still attached, so I just take it off. It takes less than a minute and I store it under the seat for easy reach when we land. For me, it's more of the fact that you can't recline the MA with it attached. I usually install RF so I find it easier to install over FF. If someone complains about RF I tell them they can either spend the whole flight getting their seat kicked or not recline theit seat. Tha usually keeps them quiet! Added bonus of RF (besides safety reasons) is that when DD drops stuff it goes in her lap instead of on the floor.
I also have a P3 and if I need it at my destination I chesk it with my luggage adn use the GoGo Kidz at the airport.
Are you trying to use the same GoGo with the MA as with the Scenera? I know there is a model just for Britax and another more "universal" model. Which do you have?

Thanks for your responses. My trip was yesterday afternoon before I got these posts. I decided to take the Marathon/GoGo Kidz. It was great through the airport, but yes, it was difficult on the plane. I twisted the buckle like is recommended, but still I could not get it unbuckled. The man in front of me saw me struggling with it and said they have the same seat and offered to help, and he was able to get it unbuckled. It was installed FF. DS 18 mo and still RF in the car, but I thought I would put in FF on the plane in consideration of the person in front of him, but then of course he kept kicking the seat the whole time, so probably not being able to recline is better. So I'll probably do it RF on the return. I'll spend less time picking stuff up off the floor too (and getting my hair pulled whenever I bend over to reach to the floor - yes, he though that was lots of fun). On the return, I'll either take it off, or maybe a seat belt extender will help. I hate to have to take it off, though, because to me, that eliminates the plus of the GoGo Kidz. If I have to take it off, I may as well use a stroller or a luggage cart. My flight had extremely helpful flight attendants who offered to carry the carseat without my even asking for help. (They did comment on how heavy it was, though).

BTW, I have the new universal model, same as I used w/ the Scenera. Wish it worked better with the Scenera, but it kept slipping off. It was just awful & such a pain.
