Default Anyone have an opinion on Fisher Price Strollers?

I noticed that Fisher Price has a stroller called the Comfort-Lite on its website. Was wondering if anyone knew anything about it?

I, too, am looking for info on the Comfort-Lite and so far haven't been successful (other than the FP website). Have you found anywhere to purchase them? After alot of web surfing, I can't even find where they're sold.

Negative. I've found nothing. Wal-Mart is heavily discounting the FP double-strollers, but I haven't found the Comfort-Lite anywhere. Too bad. If it's anything like the double-stroller I saw it should be high quality.

Post something here if you find one!

I found the Comfort-Lite at a store in South Florida called La Ideal.

Wow! This is a really nice, solid stroller. It's much better built than anything I've seen for the price. In my opinion it's on par with the Pegs and McLaren's I've seen but they're designed more with American, suburban parents in mind.

First, it's built solid, aluminum and plastics, all first-rate. The wheels are stable and the brakes catch well. It has a cup holder for the parents and for the child. The one-fold mechanism works as advertised, though it took me a second to figure out how to unfold it. All the materials seem heavy guage, especially the extra big basket at the bottom -- much more substantial than the Pegs I've seen. It has an adjustable seat for the child, and a padded-around-the-leg restraint that looks comfortable.

It's not light, that's about the only negative thing I can say about it. And it's the same blue color that every stroller has -- a pet peeve of mine. But at least it looks first class, and not cheapy like some others.

For $89 I'd buy it in a heartbeat. It's a steal. Don't know why FP doesn't have wider distribution for their strollers. Their other products are everywhere.

Now, if I could only unload my Milano XL. Hmmm.

I called FP, who no longer makes them, but was directed to call J. Mason, who is the current manufacturer. They said that they no longer make the Comfort Lite single stroller, only the tandem one. They also make the matching Close-to-Me Care Center (portable playard), which also looks good. They said both are sold exclusively at WalMart. So, if this place in Fla. is selling the the single stoller, they might be the last of their kind. Do you know if the strollers are compatible with infant car seats? If so, which ones?

That would explain why it's so hard to find. The doubles-stroller is in almost every Wal-Mart I visit but not the single one.

There's another store -- BabyLove -- in Ft. Lauderdale that has both the single and double in stock. According to one of the salesmen there the Comfort Lite won't accept the Stay-in-View but he wasn't 100% positive. Actually, what he said was that he didn't know of any stroller that would accept the SIV.

Could you post the phone number to J. Mason? I'll call them and ask. My wife and I admitted to ourselves last night that we're becoming somthing of Fisher-Price fanatics. :) In our defense, they do make great stuff.

The number to J.Mason is 800-242-1922 (8:30-5:30pm PST). Let me know if you learn anything different than I was told.

I tried calling La Ideal Baby Store in Pembroke Pines, FL and they said they don't carry the stoller. Is that the place you mentioned? If not, can you post their phone number?

Did you by chance ask the people at Baby Love if this stroller accepts any other infant seats (ie. Graco)? I've already given up on the FP infant seats since they don't make them anymore either-- just thinking ahead for replacement parts, etc.

I think I am becoming a FP fanatic as well. I have heard nothing but great comments about their products and would like to get something of better quality than I've seen in the store so far.
