I know there was a post a long time ago where you described in detail how you organized your US and it was great. Unfortunately I now cannot find it after pouring over tons of posts on organizing the diaper bag.

Here's how I packed mine when Lola was newborn (keep in mind, I'm a minimalist):
2 unzippered interior pockets: 4-5 newborn sized disposables in one side, a travel container of Huggies wipes and 2 gallon-sized ziplock bags in the other. small zippered interior pocket: pacifer, small tube of weleda calendula cream and other small odds and ends. main interior compartment: one change of clothes (for baby, of course), dirty dudes/dirty cloth diaper in ziplock bags, and 1-2 small toys 2 outer zippered pockets: my wallet, checkbook, sunglasses and lip balm in one side, any overflow in the other. zippered pocket in outer flap: 3 burp clothes (the ones I used measured about 9"x14" and were a double layer of cotton knit fabric, so they folded small and weren't bulky) key clip and cell phone pocket: I don't have a cell phone, so I attatced my keys to the clip then put them in the cell phone pocket so the wouldn't bang around. bottle pocket: I did occassionally us the bottle pocket (it holds a 9 oz Avent bottle fine. I also used Maws angled bottles which didn't fit as well.) but it does mean less space in the main interior compartment. That's it. With my diaper bag packed like this, I was fine for about 4 hours. With a newborn, that's a fairly long outing and I rarely if ever went longer that that without a stop at home. HTH, |
