I'm due with #2 in April and have pretty much decided that I don't need a double stroller (although I would go for the Aria Twin if needed). DD will be three in April and already doesn't like to ride. I hate hate hate my Graco travel system but was going to suffer through it for a few months and then buy a nice quality lightweight stroller. But I think I may have solved all my problems with the Peg perego Pliko Matic Travel System...it looks like I could use it as a travel system, as a nice lightweight for long term use and even as an emergency double for my 3 year old when she gets tired. Has anyone used the footbar for a toddler? Is it sufficient? General overall opinions on if this seems to fit my needs or any recommendations on similar strollers that offer all these things?
My biggest hope is that Valuecity is still selling them for $99.....wouldn't that be grand :) |

I LOVE LOVE LOVE my Pliko and use it as a travel system with my Graco snugride. It is absolutely fabulous! The footbar is a great feature, but forget using it when the seat of the stroller is fully reclined, or when the carseat is in the stroller. When the seat is upright, it works wonderfully. My 3 yr old loves to ride on the footbar, but again, it is really ackward when my baby is in his car seat. Good luck!

My daughter turned 3 five days before I had my youngest daughter and I used a Graco DuoGlider for the first year and now I use my Pliko exclusively with the baby in the stroller and my older daughter on the back. They both love it and so do I but I really do recomend using a double (I heard some Targets are selling the Graco double for less than $70) in the beginning. My older daughter hated riding in a stroller right up to the moment that she realized baby sis got to ride - she very quickly decided she needed a seat, too. Good luck!

I have a 2002 plikomatic i have it for the times when i don't want to bring my double for my 2 and 4yo.
The good stuff about it is..plush, easy to operate..you know like the recline is simple, hood is able to pull all the way down to the front when the seat is upright..such a cool feature my son loves that ;)..brakes are easy to use, wheel locks etc. Carry handle and a tag-along handle means it rolls while folded...plus it's not overly huge nor heavy. Mine can take the child tray which we added, DS loves this for his cups and cheerios. The adult cupholder is a bit thin and my DH finds it in the way..but it's ok a can of pop or water bottle will go in it. Speaking of DH he likes the adjustable handles he put them right at max. As for the step my kids like it..either of my girls can go on the back..4 and almost 7...the stroller holds a max of 99lbs so it does give you a fair bit to play with. Yet as said the seat does need to be upright and somebody has to be in the seat for a child to stand on the back. The main down to this model is lack of one hand steering but i tolerate it because of the built in step for my older kids, the buggy board just didn't work for use, i find the pliko step just easier. HTH :)
